Light Search & Rescue

TIME: 8:30 – 11:30 a.m., or 12:30-3:30 p.m.
LOC: Seattle Central College, 1701 Broadway, Student Event Center, Rm BE 1110/1111
DESCRIPTION: Hands-on class provides instruction on how to safely conduct a search and rescue operation after a disaster. Participants will practice safe lifting techniques, how to leverage heavy objects, and how to search a room. Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes. If possible, bring work gloves and a flashlight.

Learn tips and techniques on how to seismically secure your home to its foundation (especially if built before 1980.) Introductory class is geared for those who want to do the job themselves, as well as how to become an educated consumer when hiring someone to do the work.
